A look into our chapters - Hyderbad

We reached out to nearly 300 people, including 35 children through our Hyderbad Nallakunta Chapter. The Niloufer Govt. children's hospital is one of the oldest Govt. hospitals in the state, providing super speciality medical treatment for thousands across Andhra Pradesh. The children are provided with free food, but the parents and attendants have to stay at the hospital for long periods to accompany their children. This 'annadanam' or 'food for those in need' took place on the 21st of June, with contributions made by Mrs. Sandhya, Mrs. Padmaranjani, Mrs. Rukmini Sairam and the members of the chapter.

A look into our chapters - Lucknow

Our Lucknow Awadh Chapter recently held a 4-hour-long camp aimed at helping children discover their creative skills and bring about greater mind-body awareness through various dynamic activities. Organized by Dr. Saraswathi alias Chandra and her team, the camp was organized for children from the ages of 6 to 16 years. With a total of 62 participants involved in the classes, it included activities such as Om chanting, dancing , ‘follow the leader’ as well as a ‘talent round’ for children to showcase their unique talents. Laughter, fun and games marked the successful camp, with the chapter volunteers keen on organizing many more in the city.

Congrats! Dr. Chandra. The following are some of the photos of the event.

A look into our chapters - Mumbai

Bala Darshana Classes

The Prasanna Bala Darshana classes were started by our PT Mumbai Springs Chapter. Attended by 12 children, all of them residents of Neelkanth Gardens, the classes aim to inculcate moral values that boost the emotional intelligence of children in their formative years. The classes, which are led by our chapter Chairperson Prasanna Laxmi take place each Sunday and include chanting, meditation, breathing techniques among other activities. Swamiji’s book Oh, young Ones! Learn, Roar and Excel (Vol. 1) forms the basis of the storytelling classes that are also held.

Sanskrit Classes

Mumbai Springs Chapter also organized Sanskrit classes, beginning from the 30th of June, with around 20 people participating. The course is a series of 2-hour sessions across 10 days, organized with the intent to revive the ancient language as a spoken language. They are currently being held at the Balaji Mandir, Vashi, Mumbai.

Diabetes and Hypertension Camp

With nearly 70 people benefitting from the initiative, this camp was organized on the 5th of June in Uttam Mandir Temple Complex at Uttam Society, Chembur. Conducted by Dr. K. V. Narayanan, it aimed to provide the economically weaker members of the locality with much needed care.

Our special congratulations to the Mumbai Springs Chapter, headed by Prasanna Laxmi, for her consistent initiation to social activities.

Story of the month:

A Successful man from Dubai walks into a bank in Mumbai & asks for a Rs. 50,000 loan. The bank asks for Security & the guy hands over the keys & documents of his 7-Series BMW which is parked on the street in front of the bank.

After all necessary checks the bank agrees to grant him the loan. The bank's President & all officers enjoy a good "laugh".. For the Guy who used a 1 crore BMW as collateral against a Small Loan of Rs. 50,000. The car was parked in the banks garage safely.

2 months later the guy returns & repays Rs. 50,000 & the interest which comes to Rs.1250. The loan officer says, Sir v r very happy to do this transaction, but we r a little puzzled, while u were away, we checked u out & found that u r a "MULTIMILLIONARIE", then why did u bother to borrow 50,000??

The Guy replies, bhai where else in Mumbai can I park my car for 2 months for only 1250 and expect it to be there when I return??

The Guy smiles & says.. Pleasure doing Business with you....
