'For whatever is created is first created in the mind'

It is expected that India will be a super power by 2020. It will, however, be a 'young' superpower, given that close to 41% of the country's population is less than 18 years1 of age. Children, therefore, are not just our future. They are very much our present. Defining and shaping our country’s socio-cultural and economic fabric, they represent the latent potential that could catapult India into new paradigms of progress and development.

Under the guidance of Swamiji, our Vision 2020 Empowerment initiative aims to nourish and cultivate this potential through workshops that help youth address some of their most pressing concerns. These workshops are designed to nurture their psychological wellbeing and improve their capacity, so that they become balanced, well-rounded individuals that can take on the responsibility of building a superpower.

Birla Sunlife Asset Management under the leadership of Mr. K. S. Rao has given a corporate sanction to take this vision forward to hundreds schools covering four districts of Karnataka namely - Udupi, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Belary. Our special thanks to Birla Sunlife Asset Management for their corporate social responsibility initiative in educating the needy with a powerful vision.

Thanks to the excellent efforts of our Chapters, we reached out to more youth this July through our Vision 2020 Empowerment workshops. They were conducted across 2 states and 3 districts, namely, Hassan and Udupi in Karnataka and Hyderbad in Andhra Pradesh.

PT Mumbai Springs

Our PT Mumbai Springs chapter organized workshops on 13th July that showcased two very interesting speakers: Dr. Devang Shah, Director at Human Calculators, and Mr. Sriram Athri.

The 'Math & Memory' section by Dr. Shah was designed to open up new areas of the mind. Rooted in a vision of transformative education, Dr. Shah and his team conduct courses on 'Human Calculators', 'Human Computers' and 'Genius Parenting' for those 'committed to bringing reformative changes in their lives'.

The talk, 'Mind Matters' by Mr. Athri, highlighted the power of the mind, using humour and anecdotes to illustrate his points.

A guru, the one who removes the darkness of our ignorance, is considered to be one of the greatest influences in a person’s life. Traditionally, we have paid respect to our gurus on Guru Purnima, which falls on full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadh. This year, we celebrated the festival on the 12th of July, through dance, meditation and Swamiji’s unfoldment on the significance of Guru Purnima.

At Bangalore, a dance show marked one of the highlights of the evening. The Bharatanatyam performed by Ms. Aishwarya, grand-daughter of Mrs. Chaya Sitaram who has been one of the oldest student of Swamiji.

Swami Sukhabodhananda addressed the congegration at Nirguna Mandir, on the auspicious day.

Scores had gathered to pay their respects to Swamiji.

At Hyderabad, people came together to watch and learn from Swamiji’s teachings.

At the Lucknow Satsang, close to 35 people joined together for meditation, followed by Satyanarayana Katha.

In Mumbai, some of the youngest members of our community celebrated the festival during their Baladarshana classes.
