Spirituality in Dealing with Turbulent Times

9th Mar, 2016

The second edition of GYAN SANGAM – a retreat for Bankers and Financial Institutions with interactive sessions was planned by Finance Ministry to take forward the Government’s commitment of reforms in the Banking and Finance Sectors. The two day retreat was attended by Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely, RBI Governor Mr. Raghuram Rajan, Minister of State for Finance Mr. Jayanth Sinha, Finance Services Secretary Ms. Anjuly Chib Duggal and other Senior Finance Ministry Officials.

Poojya Swami Sukhabodhananda, Founder Chairman of Prasanna Trust addressed the captains of Banking and Finance Institutions on “Spirituality in Dealing with Turbulent Times”. He urged to discover spiritual leadership in oneself by healthy motivation to bring out the best in a person through wise learning.

The key points which he touched are – “Experiencing an experience” & “Attaining meaningful goals which are essential for fulfilment – that is beyond success”.

He inspired the audience with quotes from Bhagavad Gita, Hindi poems and Urdu couplets to thundering applauses.

Swamiji pointed out that the single largest killer of humans is not a family of large animals but a mosquito. He stressed that from spiritual paradigm it is thoughts that kills… thus transforming thoughts is most essential. He unfolded that thoughts are imprisoned more often in pursuit of power, accusations and fear.

He continued that healthy races like the one in Punjab are affected by wide spread of drugs consumption by youths. The destruction thus is pleasure oriented. Humorously he pointed out that such knowledge has often destroyed wonderment instead of enhancing it.

Kerala with its highest literacy rate is on the threshold of alcohol abuse. If inner wonderment is lost one is inwardly poor. Such a person is susceptible to be hurt and create a void within. To get over void, one may become corrupt, greedy and egoist.

Ego is a complicated energy that puts us in a state of chaos. The spiritual approach is – if thoughts can be transformed by love and joy, one can discover a deep sense of inner silence. Armed with such inner assets one can face the turbulence of external situations of life.

Swamiji in a unique style gave a spiritual inspiration to the group which deeply appreciated the presentation.

Last year Swamiji’s address at Gyan Sangam was quoted as a great success and this year it has scaled newer high.

His core message was:

Plan Purposefully,
Prepare Playfully,
Proceed Positively,
Pursue Persistently &
Produce Productively
